    · The Four Rightly Guided Caliphs (Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali)

    · The Development of different Sects such as Shiism, Kharijites, Mutazilites etc

    · Umayyads

    · Abbasids

    · Fatimids

    · Ayyubids

    · Seljuks

    · Mamluks

    · Mongols

    · Ottomans

    This course will also look at the rise of Islam in the Indian Sub-continent focussing on the Delhi Sultanate
