    The Rise of the Delhi Sultanate and Mughal Empire: Islam’s Legacy in India

    The advent of Islam and its origins in India can be traced back over a 1000 years ago. Since the advent of Islam in Arabia, Islam soon spread across the world eventually reaching the Indian Subcontinent. From the 12th century onwards, Islam played a pivotal role in India reaching to great heights during the Delhi Sultanate and Mughal rule.

    Join us with Shaykh Mohammad Akram Nadwi, a specialist of Indian History for over two decades as he introduces us to the glorious days of Islam’s reign in India.

    Course Contents:

     

    1) Key rulers and their Achievements

    1) The role of the Delhi Sultanate and The Mughal Empire in the formation of Islam in India

    1) Key Muslim Sites found in Modern Day India Today

    1) A Survey of Islamic Sciences and Madrasahs (Religious Centre’s) in India from the arrival of Muslims through to the end of the Mughal period.

    1) Farangi Mahall and Dars-i Nizami, Madrasah Rahimiyyah,  Deoband/Nadwatul Ulama and associated Madrasahs

    1) Key Scholars in the History of India

    1) The Asnaeed of the Scholars of India
