    (8) The principles of Islamic Finance
    (9) Investing in Halal ways and using contemporary Islamic financial instruments
    (10) Key contemporary financial issues, including Islamic alternatives to rib?’-based financial products

    By taking this course, students will understand what they need to know to fulfil their responsibilities in money matters, and how to practically bring the radiant example of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) into their work, earning, spending, and investing. Students will also gain an appreciation for the wisdom and benefit of the commands of Allah regarding financial matters and will get to value the clarity, depth, and benefit of the guidance of the Shariah in this area. They will also find out about contemporary Islamic finance scholarship, whom one should to listen to, whose answers to rely upon, and -- importantly -- what questions to ask, and how to distinguish between truly Shariah-compliant financial products and mere claims.
