    Tariq Ramadan is president of the European think tank European Muslim Network (EMN) in Brussels. Professor Ramadan is also senior research fellow at St. Antony's College in Oxford, Doshisha University in Kyoto, and at the Lokahi Foundation in London, and visiting professor at the Erasmus University in the Netherlands. He was formerly a professor of Islamic studies at Notre Dame University, USA. Through his writings, which include Western Muslims and the Future of Islam, To Be a European Muslim, and Islam, the West, and the Challenge of Modernity, and his lectures, he has contributed substantially to the debate on the issues of Muslims in the West and Islamic revival in the Muslim world. He is active both at the academic and grassroots levels lecturing extensively throughout the world on social justice and dialogue between civilizations. Professor Ramadan holds an M.A. in philosophy and French literature and a Ph.D. in Arabic and Islamic studies from the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
